Fall 2025 Gedi Gathering
When: Sunday, September 28, 2025, 10:00am-12:30pm
Where: Étienne Brulé Park (our Camp Gedi spot)
Description: Join us for a community gathering rooted in shared learning, connection, and reflection with families across the Camp Gedi community.
This gathering will be hosted by Kelly Lavallee of Memengwaa Healing and will include:
Sacred Medicines and Teachings: Tobacco, water, fire, and animals
Interactive Materials: Bear hide, buffalo hide, and elk hide for hands on learning
Sacred Fire Ceremony: Led by a fire keeper, including a family tobacco tie activity to share prayers of gratitude
Water Teachings: Reflections connected to the salmon run and the Humber River
Animal Teachings: A focus on the bear, exploring identity, courage, and bravery
Spring 2025 Gedi Gathering
When: Sunday, April 27th, 2025, 2-4pm
Where: The Hummingbird Field, 2481a Bloor St W.
Description: The Power of Connection: Navigating Big Feelings, Conflict, and Collaboration
Join us for a Gedi Gathering, where an expert will guide an open and supportive discussion on strengthening connection, trust, and collaboration in parenting. Together, we’ll explore how to navigate big emotions, challenging moments, and conflicts with empathy, using restorative conversations instead of punitive measures. This is a space for parents and caregivers to share experiences, ask questions, and learn practical strategies for co-regulation, repairing ruptures, and fostering emotional growth in their children—all while building a supportive community.

Where: Perth Square Park
Description: We're gathering for an evening of fire, food, and connection as the nights start getting cooler.
Bring a dish to share for our pot luck dinner, and pull up a seat by the fire for warmth and s'mores. As the sun goes down, we'll make lanterns together to light up the park after dark, then settle in around the campfire for stories, songs, and music. Bring a guitar or hand drum if you've got one!
We'll also have a community building activity planned, a simple way to meet new faces and strengthen the ties that make Gedi what it is.
Bring your family, your friends, and your appetite. All ages welcome.
What to bring:

A lawn chair or blanket
Layers for the evening chill
A guitar, hand drum, or any instrument, if you play

Camp Gedi 2025 Winter Family Festival
